Tacoma Ticking Noise / Exhaust on Engine

    Check out the below video. Is this the "Tacoma ticking" I've hear about? Is it anything to worry about?

    Also, a mechanic mentioned this "puff of exhaust" spot on my engine (I think this is the spot he was referring to). What could have caused this? @ 1:08-1:10

    Sounds like a normal 1GR to me. The gunk below the oil filler neck at 1:10 is probably...gunk from spilling oil when pouring in the filler neck that nobody cleaned up. Clean it up. If it comes back, could be a tiny leak or maybe nothing but we wouldn't know. If your "mechanic" didn't mention something like that then not sure I'd trust them to turn wrenches on my vehicle.

    Thanks, I've done all the oil changes myself and don't recall spilling any, unless it was the previous owner.

    The mechanic in question has never worked on it, he was actually looking into buying it and mentioned something about an exhaust puff.

    In any case, glad to know it sounds good.
