Got my truenas server setup with the apps that I want (so far), definitely gonna have to add more storage for plex.
Also, not sure if I’m bottle necked by storage speeds or what, my plex streaming isn’t very smooth or quality, I don’t seem to be CPU limited, the Ethernet NIC is gigabit and dual port (only one connection into the router) so I don’t think that’s limiting me with 14.5MB/s ingest and 300Mb/s on the fiber line.

Maybe there’s a setting I can toggle and limit ingest throughput so I can access the drive at a decent bandwidth while it’s also being written to?
I am considering adding a cache SSD.

What are you encoding your video files to? Myself, I only encode to 1080p as I don’t see the need to have 4k files since I’m still running 1080p non-smart TVs.

Okay, so new leaks today and yesterday from multiple sources showing the 9070XT beating the 4080 Super in time spy. That's huge news, if true. Pricing leaks are also saying $449 for the reference edition, and $499 for the AI versions.

I haven't seen price leaks yet. Is there an anticipated release date too? I would guess its still all rumors right now

I just purchased an Asus mesh router during BF and I experienced "minor" pains. First off, the quick set up guide did not accurately reflect my model, at least not directly. I had to Google my model number and relate is to a class of products it was labeled under on the app during set up. It would be nice if the quick set up guide was more specific, or the app options match my model. 2) 1st attempt at firmware update failed and app froze. I had to close out app and start the process over. Minor nuisances, otherwise new router works well.

Many of the big name volume prebuilders (not talking about boutique builders here) use entry level motherboards with limited features. It's fine if you are buying your first gaming PC and end up replacing it later down the road. You can get into upgrades, but replacing a motherboard means stripping apart your whole PC anyways. You should spend your money on the CPU and motherboard (and maybe the PSU). Otherwise all the other parts in the build are upgradeable down the road. The 7800x3D is a good choice. AMD has the better value proposition ATM. Your greatest challenge will be to source the graphics card. Since Nvidia decided to purge all 4090, 4080 and now 4070TIS before 5xxx launch, options are very limited and extremely overpriced. I think 1200w PSU is too much. If you want overbuilt, 1000w is good for piece of mind. So save yourself a few $'s here. I hear RMx PSU's are on clearance so you should take advantage of that. I agree with the above...you do not need the sound card for gaming.

What model did you get? I already had an RT-AX86U, and later added a RT-AX58U. The AiMesh setup instantly recognized the new router.

Given the rumors, wait until the end of the month to see what the 9070XT offers. Everything is pointing to it being stronger than a 4080 Super with more VRAM, which will keep it playable longer, at $479.

I added a mesh wifi system (not router) ZenWifi AX Hybrid XP4. It's just the first launch screen where it asks you what device you have.

I'll wager on the side of history for this. AMD release it at $50 less than a 5070 with 1-3% less performance and in a year or two when they straighten out their drivers it will outperform the obsolete 5070. And the cycle goes on....

    Hopefully I'll be wrong.

It should've only been 1080P for that TV show, I have some 4K movies but haven't tried to stream those yet.

Edit: Tried on my PC and I don't have remote access available from the Plex Server, so I'm limited to the 2Mbps that plex provides, I'm trying to get port forwarding setup but it seems that NordVPN doesn't support that, so I guess I need to figure out what VPN service I can run on my asus router and allows port forwarding.
