So I went to a quick lube today (I know, probably my fault in the first place) because its super cold out and will continue to be for weeks, also my apartment complex doesn't allow oil changes on property. They put in 6.25 quarts of oil and when I got home I checked and verified the oil level on dipstick after the truck sat for about 10-15 minutes and its just above the full mark. Do I have something to be worried about or should this be fine? Also before anyone says anything, I am at 2,033 miles currently, around 1,200 miles I attempted to get my oil changed at my local Toyota dealer and they wouldn't do the oil change until 10,000 miles. I wanted an earlier oil change than that.

Just above the full mark, while hot, is not a problem.

In the future, can you try another dealer? Some don't care when you do your first or second oil change, but they only do one per 10k miles. If you choose to change it sooner they just make a note in the system.

Don't worry about it. If you really want you could drain a very small amount of oil so it would be in the middle of the dots but in reality anywhere between the two dots are good, very slightly above the high mark is also fine.
Edit - Also tacoma dipsticks are usually rather rubbish at accurately showing the level.

You’re fine. Hopefully you have a different dealer you can use. Definitely get a different service “advisor”.

I definitely can, just sucks because next closest is an hour away, this one is 1/2 that drive. But an hour isn’t terrible

I’ve heard that with the research I’ve done before this post, lots of complaints about the dipsticks. So I’m sure the dipstick may make it look worse than it is. And I know that in reality I’m only over maybe .25-.35 of a quart but just wasn’t sure how big of a deal that was

That dealer might have been confused or you didn't make yourself clear. 10K service is for 10K free service. You can always pay out of pocket at a dealership for any work. They won't refuse.

So what happened was, before going to the dealer to try and get oil changed. I called and asked if it would be free even if I wasn’t at the 10,000 service mark yet. She asked someone and they said yes it’s free. ( I’m a new Toyota owner so I didn’t know how all that worked ). Even when I got there, I asked service advisor the same question, got same answer. It wasn’t until they brought my vehicle back out that I found out they didn’t do oil change and the service advisor said that they just treated it like a 5k service. So all they did was top off fluids and do a tire rotation. But the thing is when I got there, the service advisor asked what I was coming in for, and of course I said an oil change.

Yeah. Best to make yourself clear to the person that actually makes the work order.

Month ago on the road in Henderson, NV at Findlay Toyota. Service writer was a bit confused. Thought I wanted the the 10K service at 5K. I had to make clear I wanted to pay for an oil change. Sometimes, you have to put yourself in the other person's viewpoint and consider that the words that are coming out your mouth aren't making sense to that person.

I know right Toyota in Scottsdale, AZ will change it anytime you want, but you only get 1 free per 10k.

I'd call ahead and ask just in case.

That is my experience with my local dealer. I just request that the 10K check be done with the oil change at 5K, then the 20K check becomes the 10K check and so forth.

I do not know what the 4th gen dipstick end is like but on my 2nd gen I took a thin dremel disk and cut very slight notches on one side between the high and low points, its a lot easier to correctly read the oil level.

I've heard about using some sandpaper to get rid of the smooth finish and just clean it really well afterwards.

I tried that, it make it better but not great on my previouse tacoma so I went the more extreme route with my current one
