This weekend I swapped out my Fabtech dirtlogic coilovers with Dobinson’s IFS. The front rides much better now.

Yes, they are different. This car care nut says that some of toyota parts are economy. Which are not up to toyota specifications, so they could be different. Look for AZ or YZZ prefixes and stay away from these, or at least be aware. This video is where he states it, and should come up to the section in the vid where he describes economy, but you may want to watch full video.

Glad you're riding better!! Look good too, in red.

So are the Dobinson’s IFS overall better than the dirtlogic, or are they better just because your dirtlogic are at the end of their life and are plain-old worn out?

very very bright, my dad has a TRD OR with factory LEDs (my truck came with halogens) and I think I can confidently say they now can outshine the factory LEDs. I didn't feel that way with the V2s I had from them previously. This is also only with the factory drivers, I'm still waiting on my supercharger LED drivers.

The dirtlogic maybe needing a rebuild. Personally I didn’t want to send them off for 2 weeks. Along with that yearly I was having to change out the uniball bearings due to my environment and that gets old fast. My biggest complaint with them is the coil bucket adapter, I’ve broken 4 of them. The dirt logics are more desert race inspired and like most coilovers built like that require a lot of maintenance.

The Dobinsons have less maintenance required for my needs. For a fair comparison I would have needed to install the MRA coilovers. I have no doubt they are much better than the fabtech. If I had to choose a new lift I would go Dobinson MRA just because of the reduced maintenance. Most people will never need king style coil overs.

Installed my fitcam X today, super fast install, stoked to have it done.

I didn’t install the rear yet as I’m still finishing up rear seat delete in my AC.

The lure for me is to upgrade to the coilover with the reservoir, but your writeup helps alleviate that urge. Good thoughts, thanks. Lower maintenance is priority that resonates with me too.

Relocated the fire extinguisher from behind the passenger rear seat to the bed. Had a leftover bracket laying around along with some spare bolts so figured id try it out. Everything feels solid and it seems to be mostly out of the way, but we’ll see how it goes

I should probably follow your lead. Just this the first oil change myself on my truck not so long ago and I am not a fan of that plastic housing. Felt like I was going to break it

Sooooo, for those using the OEM oil filter element for the 3 1/2L motor, what PN are you using? (I’ve been using 04152-YZZA1; can’t say I’ve reached the end of the internet superhighway or even an adequate TACOWORLD search, but that’s the only PN I’ve found for the OEM drop-in.)
