    Hi y'all!

Does anybody know / have any suggestions for finding a drop-in plastic bed liner for a first gen? I feel like I've looked everywhere over the internet and can't seem to find one. I have a 2004 Xtra cab. I am located near the Bay Area if anybody has one that they are looking to get rid of... Or any suggestions on where to locate one.

    Thanks

I took mine out because it was trapping water and causing rust. Have you considered a spray in one?

I'll second the idea of doing a spray in liner if you want to avoid rust holes in your bed.

Check with some of the Toyota specific auto dismantlers up in Sac/Rancho Cordova, and/or do a search on car-part.com.
Those yards are great sources of now obsolete 1st gen Tacoma parts....

Sorry, but drop ins suck. Especially if you're in salt country or high humidity area.

My ancient frontier had a factory drop-in. I took it out twice a year to clean it - and the number of wet leaves and dirt that collected between liner and metal was appalling. It also rubbed the paint clean off so it was practically begging for rust to appear.

I had my next truck sprayed. It looked better, it had a more cargo-friendly texture, and it was bulletproof. It didn't show scratches or gouges like a drop-in does.

    Spray all the way.

I bet you can find one for free. I couldn't get anyone to take mine for free last month before getting a spray liner.

My truck had one in it from new, no rust issues with it, but they are slippery as hell. Gave it away and was happy to have it gone. I just run a Husky (I think) rubber mat and it's pretty nice. Things stay put.
