No, that's actually the same one in each shot but we've noticed a few hanging out in the area so

I think the most we've had at once was 4, but it was the parents teaching the juveniles how to hunt which was a fun sight.

 

only time ive seen them away from Waters is if lakes are frozen or they found some roadkill or something to eat.

 

We are lucky that a creek runs pretty much on the other side of our driveway but unlucky that it doesn't run through our property. The large property neighbor has it all, naturally

We do have lesser weasels as well as the partridges around us that are probably their larger food items in winter.

And last I saw one of the partridge families were hiding under one of the trees

I'll have to go take a picture of the creek later.

 

Think maybe they'd teach me how to hunt?

That is kinda terrifying but really cool.

I'm always envious of folks into falconry. I don't think I could solidly handle a bird of that size landing on my arm.
