Yakima specifies the mounting holes for landing pad 24. There are five holes in each ditch, and they specified to use hole number two and four as counted from the front to the back. However the holes they specified to use are further apart than what I need for the rack I’m going to use. Would using the center mounting hole instead cause problems? Referring to the mounting holes in the roof ditch.

Did you end up using the center mounting point? I was curious about the same thing.

I ended up using the recommended mounting holes. I bought a yakima loadwarrior extension to make the basket longer so it would fit. So there were a couple reasons why I went this route. First, using the center hole would move the basket too far forward and it was going to look awkward. Second, I mounted the basket under the crossbars using SS u-bolts and the crossbar would have interfered with the light bar I have mounted to the front inside of the basket and the extension made enough room for the crossbar to pass through the basket behind the light bar. I had to mount the basket under the crossbars rather than on top of the crossbars so that my truck could actually get into my garage (really regretting not building it with a taller door now). I will try to get some pics up later today.

Thanks for the reply! Sounds like a nice set up. Reason I'm asking, is I have a shell coming and want to mount roof rack with one bar on camper, second bar on the cab. One to spread out the load, two to get more space between them. the one on shell will be mounted on a track so it can be adjusted if needed. I'm assuming that middle mounting point would work. I'll send a message after I get it installed.

Anyone know if there mounts mid cab?
I would prefer to run one Yakima landing pad in center of double cab and two on Topper.
