I followed the instructions in the 1st post of this thread but I realized that you have the newest model....so I'm not sure a firmware is available.

Only advice besides contacting AUCar is to check the tightness of the pins and plugs.

Is there a way to wipe and load a new UI, update or upgrade. My unit had been having issues since day 1. I never had luck with the terrible so called costumer service to the point they quit answering all together both email and messages left on seen. Only reason I've kept is because I like the look otherwise I'm ready to throw out the window.
It's laggy, only connected ONCE via wireless Android Auto, plugged in it keeps disconnecting, if using Google maps it get to a point that it will be like 20 seconds behind making you miss turns, horrible latency, steering wheel controls work when they're in mood to do so etc...
    Any options? TIA

I've downloaded PowerAmp EQ to process for my music player and it appears to be a workaround for my issue.

Hey guys. Haven’t posted in the thread for a while, but I’m having an issue with my 2022 model. Didn’t feel like reading through the whole thread.

I recently had a dead battery and now my touchscreen is inoperative. I also don’t get a signal from my reverse camera. CarPlay still works and stuff like that, and the buttons still control my climate controls. But the touchscreen doesn’t do anything. Reset?

Sounds similar to the "sleep mode" bug that I have to deal with.

With that said, pop out the unit... pull the main harness that supplies power to the unit. Wait 10 seconds... plug back in.

Power cycling this unit usually resets/reboots and gets the screen operational again.

Thanks. That did the trick. I’m wondering if one of the reset pin holes on the front would do the same thing?

Self inflicted mistake. I switched the Display Size and Font size to the default setting and now I'm getting the full EQ screen.

Hi everyone, this has been quite the read for me! I've been on the hunt for a HU for a few days now, stumbled upon one of Jon's videos today, and it led me straight here.

I really enjoyed reading through the older posts, seeing where it all began with Jon testing the first unit. Great work, and big thanks to you for the support in bringing this to the community.

It's been wonderful to see the community here helping each other out. Until today, I hadn’t planned on getting an Aucar unit, but now I’m kind of considering it. Even with the known issues, but feeling better to have you all around.

So question for you all: Has anyone besides Jon tried the new 14-inch unit already? Probably yes, and Ive missed it on comments.

    Thanks.

Hey @Nandez, just wondering how things have been since those issues a couple of months ago. Did you get them resolved, or are you still dealing with them?

I just installed a second hand tesla type hu in my GX470 project. I tried doing the factory reset through the options menu, and using the button on the front, but it still kept previous user info in waze (previous owner) and youtube music (my login). The interface itself seemed better/more responsive. But how do I do a full reset?

    It's a 2018 Androis 8.1 version.

It’s been good now. Turns out it was my AC blower that was going bad. After checking all fuses I decided to swap that part out with an OEM, and now it works great. Currently working some kinks on the SIM card data as it only works on some apps.

Thanks Nandez. I ended up ordering it and all going great from the moment I installed it. I even have a SIM card on it, and so far all going fine.
I'm glad to hear you worked it out.
