So may be a strange request, feel free to tell me its dumb..

Is there usb-a connection on the back of the headunit that I can use to plug in the carplay cable?

The USB connection on the center console is starting to get glitchy- probably because the cable keeps getting bumped and jostled and I was hoping to hide it in the dash and at the same time free up a spot for another switch.

Even better for me would be the ability to hide a wireless carplay adapter behind the dash near the headunit if that is a possibility?

    Open to suggestions..

    Thanks in advance..

The main USB port is the only input for CarPlay in factory form. Not sure about wireless dongles. I’d say probably just replace the USB port is the best option.

You could buy a new port that you hide behind the dash and leave the old port. I don’t think you’ll be able to make a switch location by removing the old port, I think it’s a different size than all the switch holes.

This was my next option.. probably shrink wrap or tape it together and tuck it behind the dash for essentially the same effect.. Thanks.

Get a wireless dongle. Mine works great for AA.
