I stopped at the 2 min mark.....Last year was the best year in sales for the Tundra other than 2007. So the 159k people who bought them felt good doing it. And the minimum wage in Mexico for building cars is $16 an hour, not $3.

That $48K Tacoma has $3,200 in distributor options and $2,900 in dealer options. I'd stay away from that dealer.

$74k for a 1/2 ton pickup truck. No way is a $70k Tundra going to hold its value. I very rarely see a 2024 F-150 above an XLT trim on the road with the exception of a Raptor, the Silverados I see are usually LT and below. How many people would pay these prices for a 1/2 ton, and how many people do that more than once?

    Edit

Maybe the folks who were buying the upper trim domestics switched to the upper trim Tundras. Toyota sold a lot of Tundras, and if I'm not seeing domestics on the road in that price range.

Whatever the minimum wage is, it's less than what it would be in the United states.

20250113_185357.jpgIt still gets the heads up display. People said it was gone in the US for 2025. Maybe they were talking about the 4R.

Southeast Toyota is notorious for loading up port/distributor options. Paint sealant is probably a $15 303 Spray and Rinse, Interior protection is another $15 worth of Scotch Guard or another knockoff 303 product. I pay $1.50/mo for roadside assist through my insurance, dealer will provide loaner for most overnight repairs, so that leaves a lot left over for the two oil changes. I'm sure you'll remember that you still have them two years down the road and I'm sure the dealer will remind you if you don't (no).

Yep, SETD purely sucks...I had a manager at a dealer go off about them on the phone and how stupid it was to pile all that stuff on. He always bears the brunt of the ire from the customer and it drives his sales down.

The result of releasing the model year ('24) so late.

That’s because there’s four grand of add-ons and at $60,000 they’re still making bank roll. and I would be willing to bet that everyone has caught wind, (pun intended), of that stupid roof rack and all of its rattling problems that they’re trying to push off onto everyone at Port….. I am so damn glad I was one of the lucky ones that didn’t have that stuck on my truck

Never said it wasn't, clarifying that its not the basic care someone mentioned. What was your point?

The truck had several factory options so its TSP was 66 and some change. Still odd they marked down a TH like that. Probably to clear it out so they can get a '25 TH in. They did have a Pro a while back, but that one did sell quickly.

$1,495 of that is D&D though, so base MSRP is really $64,395. I have seen several TH and TRD Pros discounted more than $3,000 advertised. Now whether or not they add "fundatory" options like Nitrogen, window tint, etc to recoup the $3k is a different story.

Fortunately even in 2020-2022 times they did none of these shenanigans. Now, there was a period of time when inventories were slim they wouldn't sell to anyone outside of the "coverage" area, but nothing other than that.
