I picked up this mint condition Eddyline Equinox from what turned out to be a very nice woman who has my exact truck, just in Electric Lime. It was parked out front when I drove up, beautiful truck.

She is selling her two kayaks, but we spent more time taking trucks than kayaks. She wanted to know about putting some type of off road camper on the back of hers. I asked if she was on this forum and she said yes and I suggested she ask here due to how popular those type of mods are on this forum.

I have owned two beautiful ocean touring Eddylines in the past, I love the build quality and I'm looking forward to using it later this week. This one is sort of a recreational/touring kayak at a modest 14' with a 25" beam. It should be perfect for this old beat up body of mine.

Eddyline definitely makes a nice boat, good find! They were definitely on my list of possibilities before I found this one. It's a wilderness systems tsunami 160. Great boat, does everything I need and plenty of storage for longer camping excursions. I'm quite looking forward to spring so I can get back out on the water.

Do you like the J style rack? I have always laid my kayaks flat. I know it is easier to fit two on the roof with the J's but it just seems like a wind catcher.

I do, but I've honestly never done it any other way so I can't really make a comparison. Definitely catches wind, but not as bad as you'd imagine. I can drive comfortably at interstate speeds with it up there.

What roof rack do you have? Looking for something basic for kayaks and preferably easily removable for when not in use.

I have a Yakima rack. Skyline towers sitting on landing pads with Jetstream bars. Perfect for my needs, quite easy to remove/install by myself.

Those Eddylines are well built. Saw one pinned up against a rock, thought for sure it'd crack. Nope. Pulled it back out and kept paddling!

The only thing I miss about my f150 was my Thule bed rack set up for carrying my ocean Kayaks. It was so easy to load a 17' kayak starting from the rear.

I bought that kayak a month ago, I finally got it in the river today.
