My truck: 2010 single cab (one piece drive shaft); 2.7L, r155 manual trans.

Need some help identifying the circled part in the attached pic; this is where the trans meets the drive shaft. Is this a bearing? If so, does anyone know the part number for it?

    Any help appreciated. Thanks!

It's just a deflector/shield to keep stuff out of the output shaft seal, should be no need to replace it.

Got it, thank you for replying. I have a hum that occurs between 35-55 mph even when trans is out of gear and truck is rolling in neutral. I have already replaced wheel bearings and tires, and my truck doesn’t have a carrier bearing, but thought there may be something in there that needed replacement.

I’m open to any ideas anyone might have to figure this out and get rid of the hum. Thanks!

Can you determine if it's coming from the front or rear of the truck?

It sounds like it’s coming from the front, but not 100% sure.

Maybe stick the rear end on jackstands and run it in the air to see if the noise is there.
