My 2006 brake pedal has been making this noise every time it's pressed for the past several months. I just assumed I need to spray some WD40 all over where it connects, but does anyone think there's more to this, that something is failing and needs replaced?

No way for us to know, you'll have to crawl down on the floor and give it a look over for yourself. If it seems any of the joints in the pedal mechanism or return spring are rubbing causing the squeak you can try to hit it with some dry lube or maybe even a dab of white grease. Can't say for sure that it applies to Tacomas but some other vehicles that I have seen with squeaks like this could be a bad booster or master cylinder. Check your brake fluid reservoir on that side of things, if it's a 2006 and you've never flushed the fluid might not be a bad thing to try if you know what youre doing.
