Yep! 655W bifacial panel. Been an idea of mine for a few years now but finally found the right panel that fits between the roof rails.

Just a tent on the roof. Because the van is insulated, sometimes it’s still too hot inside to sleep.

Nice .. how much power are you getting from it on that mount style? How much light passes through? Are you backing the back side with anything?

    Lots of questions heh.

Don’t have much info as I’m still building it out (including an electrical system) but I’ll probably be running metal strips along the inside of the panel so the tent covers can be removable. Compared to my last flat panel, i’m expecting 25% increase in solar power when tilted and maybe 5-10% increase from the bifacial.

That's neat. Are you trying to make an RTT -esk camper on top of your sprinter, or just pop up solar? Would be neat to see it, also in socal

I believe it is 22 inches. first posts states the tent sides are 100 inches, and the sleeping platform is 50x78.

From 80/20. That three hole version needs to be CNCd, it just comes as a plain triangular piece.

Thats likely true. It's not terribly complex.

    2024 Tundra
Hi All, long time listener first time caller.

learned a ton reading this thread a couple times over, designed a wedge for my tundra based roughly off a Drifter but with insights from many in this thread.

    IMG_0553.jpg

About to make the rear door and really want to replicate the latch/lock setup I had on a previous Snugtop. Single rotary (1/4 turn) center latch that was wired up to key fob. Anyone tried doing this? Looking at Southco’s catalog it seems like they may have the components but really hard to figure out and calling them hasn’t yielded any insights.

    Thanks in advance!

The way i made them they just stopped against each other, also the shocks i put on made them/everything stay up. I also eventually put some copper washers on the bolts and you could tighten the bolts so they had resistance. Never had an issue with them.

A few years back i built a tacoma for a buddy of mine - Recently he got into an unfortunate accident. Wrecked the Tacoma, i am helping him part out the truck and i bought the 4wc off him. Its 4wc - Eagle. It has a little bit of damage but not to bad. Nothing thats not fixable. I will be fixing it and using it on my f150.
We stripped the truck and camper down and sold a bunch of stuff, already. Matter of fact got a few things left i should list here on TW.
