I am in the market for new tires and am looking at changing wheels while I am at it. I am thinking of going with the TRD Pro SEMAs from BAM (PTR20-35110-BK).

    1. Is there a reason these wheels say they are not compatible with the 2020 Sport? Is it just because they were intended for the 4Runner / FJ?

    2. I have stock tires right now (265/65R17), but am looking at going up to 265/70R17 - anyone had any issues with that sizing on stock suspension? Thinking Falken AT4s

Eventually I would like to add a 2”/1” lift, but trying to make some positive changes to the appearance in the meantime without spending an additional few thousand for the lift.

FWIW - I don’t do any off-roading. Mainly city / highway driving & towing various trailers for house projects.

A lot of people have had issues with the 17" SEMA's not fitting on a Tacoma hub. You will need to have the wheel machined slightly or use wheel spacers to get them to fit.

That tire size will fit just fine stock.

dd light bars, trd cat back exhaust, KDMax tuned, trd skid plate, 2" lift, sema wheels toyo open country at3 tires.

Only if people ordered/received the wrong ones. I believe there are 2 different hub dimension part numbers, plus the color difference numbers. Dont quote me but, I believe the issue is 4Runners have the different sized hub, and thus the difference in diameter fit for our Tacoma. I have a 2019 Sport and the Sema's went on fine.

To the OP, you should be able to fit the 265/70/17 sema's on stock suspension no lift but, you may have a slight rub, up hill, down hill, when turning. The tire will probably rub the back of the fender liner/mud flap area. Mine did, and I took it to a wheel alignment shop, told them what was going on, asked for as much caster as they could give me, with toe and camber remaining within stock specs. Once that was done, no more rub. Good luck! Ski

The problem is not the Semas, the problem is the 2021+ 4R TRD Pro. Semas fit fine. So no issues here.

The issue the other guy is talking about is a problem with the 4R TRD Pro wheels not fitting Tacoma axles. The issue is the wheel is not bored deep enough for the Tacoma axle shafts paired with the drums. The 4R with disc brakes works fine so the wheels seat properly on them. Put them on a Tacoma and the wheel will not seat. I’m not sure if the Tacoma hub is thicker or if it’s the thinner face of the drum. Probably the drum if I had to guess.

That problem is only with actual 2021+ 4Runner TRD Pro wheels though. The OP is asking about Sema wheels which are an accessory (though they did come stock on the 4R for a while). The Semas will sit perfectly fine on a Tacoma or 4R.

The difference can easily be told by the spoke design.

    Sema (fits fine):

Ended up going with the matte black Wheel Replicas Voxx Toyota Pro wheels from Discount Tire, Falken Wildpeak AT4s (265/70/17), and red TRD center caps (PT280-34200-02) from Sparks Parts. Crazy how just new wheels and tires can make such a big difference in the look of the truck.

Planning to black out the Tacoma emblems and tailgate insert once it gets a little bit warmer.
