    Hello fellow taco enthusiasts!

Finally at the point where I have the funds to buy my first vehicle. Been wanting a used Tacoma for forever. Just want a reliable daily that I can also take on the occasional adventure and hobby work that I can also just drive until the transmission dies. My budget is $15k

I’ve found a really good deal on a 2017 access cab SR that comes in under the budget at 120k miles. Seems mechanically sound, clean title and VIN, single owner, and no recalls, and fits my general use profile. Any reason I shouldn’t pull the trigger?

My only thought at this point is thinking of maybe holding out for a more decked out late-2nd generation just because of how bombproof those transmissions supposedly are. I guess the jury is still out on the 3rd generation. Am I off with this thinking?

If the SR isn’t what you’re looking for, I wouldn’t wait for a more “decked out” Tacoma. If anything I would wait for a “less mileage” Tacoma, and do the decking myself, regardless of generation.
