I am now a proud owner of a 2012 2.7l Tacoma. Ive owned several Rangers and really liked them. I love the Tacoma and always wanted one but they were always out of my price range. As far as cars/SUV's all we ever owned were Toyotas. I had serious motor problems with my Ranger and needed a new truck. I came across a 2012 Tacoma with 150K miles. Decent shape, no rust, couple very minor dents. It is a standard 4x4. I paid 7500 for it. Not sure if that was a good price but the others I seen for sale were a little more. Only driven it a couple hundred miles so far. Seems to run great and goes down the road nice. For me it is like a Cadillac. It has power windows, mirrors, ac, etc., things my ranger didn't have. I have one issue that I'm a little concerned about. Shortly after starting I get a very slight smell of oil. I believe it is coming from the engine compartment because I can smell it only in the cab and it is not smoking at all. I don't see any leaks. I'm wondering if it could be the PCV valve. I haven't checked it yet but when I pull it out Im going to replace it anyway. Thanks for allowing me to join the forum.
