    Thank you!

    I’m definitely excited to get them installed. I was just holding off because I’m making a YouTube video to compare supercharged vs non supercharged performance.

    Been having a lot of fun with this format. Went out scouting for some new areas for photo ops since I'll eventually be adding more lights and i like taking these types of photos. Trying to kinda perfect my shots. Need to get a tripod, or mount for the truck, because it takes a steady hand without. But I am freakin LOVING the new lights!!

    (This was with the ss3 fogs and supercharged drivers)

    @drizzoh @Mshort03 @aturk @K9tacoma @jayandersen5 … and anyone else who may be interested.

    Here is what I can up with:
    IMG_9644.jpg
    This is kind of a universal approach. Using it you can:
    -draw power from the battery instead of the fuse tap.
    -trigger the lights to “turn on” when the stalk switch is set to DRL and parking lights/lowbeams.
    -you can use the fuse tap to power them if you want, and use these to so that the turning the stalk to OFF or DRL OFF will turn them off.
    -you can also use the fuse tap to trigger the relay turning the lights on with the truck, but drawing the actual load from the battery. This option will need a plug not pictured here, and will require a ground wire to be attached. I’d do this on request if anyone wanted that.

    Pictured is the tap for TRD halogens (if your truck came with the “L” shaped DRL). I can also make it for TRD LEDs if anyone needs that. As to SR/SR5s, these won’t work unless you want to go with the option to trigger them via the fuse tap and draw the power from the battery.

    It should be noted that the start up sequence won’t trigger until the lights are turned on (via turning the stalk switch to DRL, or starting the truck with AUTO or using the fuse tap to trigger them). And the heaters won’t work until the lights are turned on.

    This wire goes to the battery:
    IMG_9645.jpg
    This is the tap for the headlights. It will go between the truck wiring and the Morimoto harness.
    IMG_9646.jpg
    and this is the relay part
    IMG_9643.jpg

    These won’t require any modification of the Morimoto harnesses. I used 14g wire for the power portion, hopefully matching what Morimoto used. The DRL/parking tap are 18g with 3A diodes. Kind of overkill, but if you wanted to use that tap to drive grille lights or Diode Dynamics fog light backlights, that can be done easily, so I tried to make them beefier than they’d need to be.

    And lastly, I used the same loom to cover the wires that Morimoto used, so hopefully these will look like they belong with them.

    As to pricing… I am thinking maybe $75? But the first 4 or 5 I’ll probably let go for $50 on the condition that you shoot me some feed back. Electronically, I know these are sound, but since I don’t have the Morimoto harness, I had to guess a little on wire lengths. So it might be way too long, or too short. Hopefully long….
    If anyone wanted to use the fuse tap to trigger the relay and just draw the power from the battery, Id do it for like $25 probably since you wouldn’t need the headlight tap portion. And that is a good portion of the work and parts cost.

    Oh man this looks GREAT! I'd be interested as well.
    I understand this is geared for the options of disabling them in off, and battery sourced. But my only question, is will the drls be at full brightness or dimmed, in drl mode.
    In other words, I'm looking for;
    Off= off
    Auto= normal operation
    Drl= drls only @ full brightness
    On= normal operation.
    (Or alternatively, drls could be @full brightness in the other modes too if it necessitates this, but im thinking this is hardwired in and unavoidable)

    The DRLs will be in full brightness in DRL mode. Same for auto as long as it is light outside. Auto can be tricky because it turns on the parking lights when it gets dark, but this harness won’t change that. It really only controls what turns the lights on and where they get power from. The behavior besides when they turn on will be unaffected.

    I suspect that Morimoto set these up to dim with parking lights? Usually the DRL would be full brightness with DRL and parking lights, but dim with the low beams. But as a byproduct of making these more universal (SR and TRD), I think the actual DRL signal gets totally ignored. These headlights likely rely solely on the fuse tap to drive the DRL, and then use the parking light signal to dim the DRL portion of the light. Maybe someone who has these could verify that?

    Puppy that is hella clean. My Gen2 warranty has gone thru, so just waiting for the Evo's and Superchargers to show up. Will definitely let you know if I have issues being an OR. Will be a bit before I put them in as I'm busy the next few weekends and I want to get this set PPF'd before install so AZ doesn't kill them in no time flat.

    Pumped asf for the upgrade. The Gen2's were functionally a ton better than the halogens but the appearance always left some to be desired. The Evo's are dead sexy. Should be a nice refresh to the front of my truck.

    Yep you are correct on all accounts there. And explained their operation better than I could regarding how they are designed and geared for being more universal across all trims.

    And yeah I think you're right, the parking light/drl mode when selected on stalk, is probably just being used as a signal to dim (although, you still get (dimmed) drls without the fuse tap in drl mode). So I'm wondering if that wire can just be unplugged/de-pinned and allow them to operate at full brightness in drl mode. However, the little side marker leds probly won't be lit, as those aren't on with the full brightness mode.

    So they are driving the dim DRL with parking. Makes sense I suppose. That is how the OEM lights do it. But the switch over must be ran by the parking lights as opposed to the DRLs. Which makes sense if you are just ignoring the DRL anyway. I suppose they could have used the low beams to trigger that, but I’m not sure how it’s actually set up inside, just making a guess. I’m no electrical engineer, but I did stay at a Holiday Inn…. :rofl:

    Just installed the test harness from @Puppypunter and can confirm 100% oem function!! Absolutely stoked. Everyone should buy this to get full oem function back.
