1st Gen speaker recommendations- please

    aside from component sets, have you tried speakers, from any of the places you listed, that produces decent bass. If so, any recommendation? I understand regular sized speakers don’t push out lots of bass like coming from a subwoofer, I’m just looking maximum bass from 5x7” speakers that fit my doors without breaking the bank. I prefer to not install a big subwoofer.

    i've been very happy to be running my peerless hds nomex drivers for about the last 8 years between multiple vehicles now. it's been 'pay-walled' due to some politics at peerless, but the aluminum coned version is still available

    my other vehicle runs daytons esoteric 7", which has a nearly identical tone to the peerless hds, but were discontinued a few years ago, though were really popular, so might still be available second-hand

    there's also dayton's signature series. i haven't personally tested them yet, but they have a very similar build quality.
