    Hi Tacomaworld,

I have a 2023 Tacoma TRD Off Road with a 4x4 Colorado Alto Mini tent on top of the truck bed on RCI bed racks. I’m looking for a free standing 270 awning and there are way too many, and 90% seem like the same thing just with a different label slapped on. I’ve called some of the companies and they don’t even know their own true specs in terms of sq feet of coverage, true waterproofing, etc.. so I’m turning to the tried and true method, experience from other fellow enthusiasts.

Here are some qualities I’m looking for if anyone would give any recommendations.

Consider that it’s going to be mounted on the passenger side channels of the 4x4 Colorado Alto Mini tent.

    - heavy duty canvas material that actually has quality waterproofing.
    - 60lb or less.
    - any exposed metal to be either quality powder coated or aluminum (basically trying to avoid rust)
    - when it’s opened up, I want it to also cover the rear passenger seats because that’s where the fridge is. And also when it stretches around the rear of the truck to not have a huge gap behind the tent as I do most of the cooking on the tailgate.
    - not super essentially but LED lights are a plus.

If it’s relevant, I’m in Southern California so there are certain products from Australia that looked nice but shipping alone is like $400-500, so that’s a no go.

Let me know what you guys have and would recommend, and how it’s held up in rain, snow, years of use, etc.. anything is appreciated

    Thank you!!
