Hard not to. Roca Partida, a double pinnacle looks like a rabbit head about 250 miles south of Cabo. It’s sheer sided down the top of a seamount at 200’. All blue water from there out. We dropped in on the wrong side and had to swim around to the up current side where there’s a dead zone. I used my climbing skills to augment my fins and got there first. Kicked maybe 50-75 feet off the wall and hanging neutral at about 60’ waiting for some mantas to show up but all I saw were some hammerheads off in the blue. My friends finally made it around and later in the dive some mantas too but non real close. Back on the boat they asked me about THAT HAMMERHEAD. I said “which one?” They said, “the one that was 15’ behind you while you were staring into the blue”. “Uh, no, didn’t see that one”.

I dive fairly regularly, mostly in Monterey.

...Once upon a time, before we had these babies, we went all over to dive. This was one of my favorites.
We've been alternating Saturdays at the Y to get them swimming ahead of a holiday trip to try snorkeling for the first time. I hope they dig it as much as their folks. fingers X'd

….the kids loved it! We are staging to take another crack at it this year.

last year the surf was intimidating. One of the first places I got to snorkel was the Key's. So we found a place that was really quiet and less windy. There were less fish to see but kids got to bob around and see some stuff. Way better than being pummeled repeatedly and not seeing anything. They are 3&6 this year and the wet suits still fit. Woohoo! Jeez I better try mine on ;)
