Now that the pool fence gate is thawed out o_O, I just finished skimming out leaves and turning the Polaris on to get them off the bottom of the deep end. Water temp is a bathtub 55*, anyone up for a swim? I’ll be curious to see what it goes down to after the next couple of days.

You don't often see snow piling up around an open swimming pool around here -- probably less common where you are. :goingcrazy:

The snow has tapered off pretty much at this point. The weather app still says snow possible until 2200 and they are keeping the winter storm watch in place until 0600 tomorrow. The snow looks deeper on top of the picnic table out by the pool, I’ll measure it tomorrow if I can open the pool fence gate and see how close I am to the 8.8” mark.

Good evening everybody. We woke up to a brisk 15* with a windchill of 9*. It’s a dry cold, all of the humidity has been wrung out of the air. We babysat the girls today so not a lot to show.

I did shovel snow this morning o_O so my dog had a place to do his business. I also got the parking pad outside the garage and patio cleared too.

    upload_2025-1-22_20-29-10.jpg

I got the pool fence gate open and checked the snow depth on the picnic table
    upload_2025-1-22_20-35-16.jpg

7” was the depth. It looked deeper :notsure:
    upload_2025-1-22_20-37-38.jpg

The woods are pretty with the snow and some sun. Still damn cold though
    upload_2025-1-22_20-40-12.jpg

I get to bust some fresh tracks going to pick up the girls. Tacoma did fine in 4H even with the factory Goodyears. Solid ice about 3” thick along the right curb. Not sure if a sprinkler line up the road burst and froze or what.
    upload_2025-1-22_20-42-11.jpg

The temperature went above freezing about 1030 this morning until late this afternoon. That and the sun have caused some good snow melt. It’s still plenty deep in the shady parts of the yard.
    upload_2025-1-22_20-47-50.jpg

    upload_2025-1-22_20-48-33.jpg

    upload_2025-1-22_20-49-3.jpg

The local roads have melted and dried out pretty well if the sun was shining on them. The shady spots are going to be black ice in the morning. Our 3 main bridges over the bays and rivers are still closed due to ice. I-10 is still shut down from the Alabama line to Tallahassee, FL (200 miles). They actually have a few snowplows working to clear the bridges and overpasses on it and hope to have it open sometime tomorrow.

I have the girls again tomorrow because the other grandmother can’t drive over here to babysit so don’t expect any updates or pictures tomorrow.
