I have matte black Method wheels and after a wash the rims discolor, like a powdery whitish color. Last wash I found using this Griots satin tire dressing seems to give it a nice non-shiny black satin finish, like they were brand new. Any tips on matte black rims without using a tire shine?

I searched the forums and found lots of posts about tire care but not matte black wheels.

The discoloration on matte black rims after washing is often due to soap residue, water spots, or minerals left behind. To prevent this, use a matte-friendly wheel cleaner and make sure to dry the wheels completely. Avoid traditional waxes or silicone-based dressings, as they can leave an uneven finish. A matte ceramic coating helps protect against contaminants while keeping the factory satin look and using a quick detailer designed for matte finishes between washes can also help keep them looking clean without buildup.

I just made a post on ceramic coating my black wheels. For $20 I recommend it or some similar product.
