Did anyone have an issue getting the bushing sleeves mounted on OME bushing kit?

I'm working on redoing the suspension and a bunch of other stuff on my 99 Tacoma and have been struggling to understand the metal sleeves that came with the OME bushings. I purchased the Dakar leaf springs, with bushings and greasable shackles. It seems like the metal sleeves simply don't fit and are the same diameter as the shackles themselves. Is this the case, and if so why did they include them in the kit? I hate having leftover parts and have just finished installing the leaf springs without them and it seems fine. I am feel like I did something wrong though and would like to correct it if so. I searched the forum for a similar topic but did not find anything, though I am new here and still figuring my way around so feel free to link any relevant post and I will read through it. Thanks!

Are your shackles “lift shackles”? If they have different ride heights the sleeves go in the unused hole. With bolts. Makes them more ridged. Hope this helps

I went with the non-lift shackle since I will be getting the lift from the leafs. The metal sleeve definitely doesn't fit the shackle, and according to ARB assembly instructions it isn't supposed to. I took the leafs off today because I noticed that the bushing on the non-shackle mounting point was pinched, which made me think I messed up by not installing the metal sleeves. The sleeves fit in the bushing and the bolt was able to go through, but they are too wide to fit into the mounting bracket and too thick to fit into the hole on the mountint bracket that the bolt goes through. It's pretty confusing to me, and I still haven't figured it out nor have a sense of why the bushing is pinched on that one side
