I just bought the OEM bed divider, but I think it is too wide for the bed. Is it expected to trim off a little of the length or should it be returned?

Correct. I verified that part number on the box and the receipt.

So what part is too wide? The part that goes between the rails or wheel wells?

Odd that it wouldn't fit. Got any pics of the parts and issue? Might be something simple.

Do you have Factory Trifold cover? The mounting for the tonneau cover uses spacer blocks behind the cargo rails and sets the rails out about 1/4" on each side.

Yes I do have that cover from the factory. That must be the issue. I guess the only fix is to cut the support rail of the divider?

Can confirm this is the issue, I had to cut the divider ends after installing the trifold tonneau cover. Before installing the bed cover, it was a perfect fit.

I will work on it this weekend. Do you recall how much you cut off?

This was over the summer so I don't remember exactly, but I believe I started with 1/4 inch each side, and might have cut maybe 1/16 inch more to make it slightly easier to take in and out. Also try to keep it cool when you cut, I used a chop saw w/ cutting wheel and it got hotter then I expected.

That reminded me of a story that my mom told me about what my dad did. She brought my dad over to her parents' house to fix something. He got the the saw and he was holding the board on the dining table... He didn't realize until he cut about 6" length of the saw line on the table.. Her dad was very mad/upset about it... So they got new table afterwards.
