Push button start problem

I recently bought a used 2017 TRD sport 4x4 and I really like it. My problem is that while driving if the start button is pressed the truck shuts down. No warning lights come on and the truck starts and runs fine. This is dangerous and is not the way it should operate. Any clue or help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Have you tried not pressing the button while driving? I don't press the button while driving, and the truck stays on.
I know this sounds snarky, but seriously, but I have never had that happen. The 4wd control is right there, so I can see your hand getting close, but it work by turning not pushing.

 

The button says "engine start stop"
So if the engine is running, the button becomes the "stop" button, why are you pressing it while driving?

I've pressed the push-to-start button when the brake pedal was not applied and the instrument panel lit up.

Definitely not touching the button when I'm driving...what gives?

The truck should not shut off if the button is pressed, this truck does, that's the problem.

No the truck should NOT shut off if you press the button while the truck is in drive. This truck does.

 

I noticed when I accidentally pressed the button when the truck was in drive instead of park. The truck should not shut down but this truck does.

 

That's how it's supposed to work. No lights or warnings, maybe electrical problem?

 

OP here’s the answer it’s normal.

A 2017 Tacoma will shut off if you press the push start button while driving down the road because the system is designed to prevent accidental engine restarts while in motion; pushing the start button when not in park is interpreted as a command to turn the engine off, leading to the vehicle shutting down for safety reasons.
