    Hello,
Just recently bought a 2022 TRD OR with 23k on it after a fast few days of research and test driving.
Previously had a 2008 SR5 that was rusted beyond safe highway driving.

    Here is a summary:

    Access Cab:
Went with the access cab 6ft bed because I seldom have more than one person in the car but almost always have stuff in the back. It is a purpose specific vehicle, wife and friends have 4 seater if needed, this is 'our' pick-up.

    Screw the budget:
    Spent the extra $5k to get a 2022 trd with 23k instead of a 2022 SR5 with 42k.
Win win, lose on the money but probably better in the long run

    Screw it again:
Spent extra $2k for an additional 100k miles on the comprehensive warranty. Now it has bumper to bumper for 120k miles, seems like one bad microchip will make this worth it.

    New or Not:
New 2024 or 2025 models are roughly $10k more than 2020-2023 models with 30k +/-
Also 2024 is the first year generation run so was less desirable to me.

    Test Drives:
Test drove Frontier Pro4X and Ridgeline as well.
Price/ Miles was almost the same across the board for all.
Ridgeline was great for what it is, very comfortable and good drive, not truck enough though.
Frontier did not drive nearly as well as the Tacoma SR5 or TRD in my opinion.. obviously.

    Looking For:
    Location- Not too far
Certified- Opens up good warranty value
Previous Owner- What state, leased, accidents
    Model years to avoid
    No weird mods or customizations

A PDF comparison sheet is attached.

FYI, almost all warranties are from in service date/zero miles
100k mile warranty means 100k on the odometer and it’s over

A lot of folks do not understand the In service date. One of our local dealers had about 5 2023’s that were new. About 4 months ago.

I think he means the 10yr/120k extended warranty, and is rounding the 23k on the truck to 20 - hence "extra" 100k miles.

Either way, I'm having flashbacks to CAS3 and making DECMATs. IYKYK...
