Advice on getting scratches out of brushed wheels?

Have any of you guys removed scratches/imperfections from your brushed aluminum wheels? If so, how? I hate how hazy and scratched mine look

 

Bust out the polisher and get to work

 

Wheels get beat up pretty bad doing their job. Keeping them car show pretty is near a full time job! Have fun!

 

Polishing alloy wheels is time consuming work, but pretty rewarding...

 

They have clear coat on them. Could I just use normal automotive wax?

 

I’ve polished old weld billets and some American forces in the past, was DEFINITELY rewarding. Is there any way I could strip the clear on these so I could polish them and get that same kind of shine?

 

I'm sure you could have the clear removed chemically, but you might be able to polish the clear as well if it isn't too far gone. That shine job would last longer than polishing bare aluminum before you need to do it again

 

He needs a metal brush to rework his brushed wheels.

Less tire grease and a better camera.

Why would you polish a brushed finish?

 

I've had good luck w/ the meguiars body scrub (its like a harsh cleaner wax but not quite a polish) for cleaning coated wheels. the issue is if you use too harsh of a polish, like a wheel polish, it will haze the clear and then you'll have no choice but to strip the wheel.
