I see everyone using fancy razors. I get the 3 pack of throw away razor from 7/11 for 4.99 and I'm good. I shave my head twice a week. No point spending lots of money on razors. I'm damn near bald anywho.

I used Phillips clippers for years, not as close as a razor but it won't take a layer of skin like a couple of disposable razors have. Then I tried a pitbull style razor, the blade cartridges don't last nearly long enough to be cost effective.

This past November I picked up a Henson safety razor, a little pricy compared to disposables bit the replacement blades are only a dime or so. I shave my head every three or four days and change the blade each time. Oh, and a Proraso boar hair shave brush and some coconut smelling shave soap. I use a little vitamin E oil before each shave and lotion the head every day.

This is what works for me.

Thanks, I’ve been thinking about getting a Hensen razor but have wondered if it would work ok on my head.

I’ve been in the same boat. I used to use clippers, and they’re awesome for keeping things tidy without too much fuss. I tried a head-specific electric razor once, and it was okay but didn’t really impress me. If you’re just looking to keep things at stubble, your Wahl clippers should do the job. They’re simple and effective. I’d stick with what you’ve got unless you really want to try something new.

I'm going on 2.5 years with using a Pitbull Silver shaver every 2-3 days and the trim is just as clean and smooth as it was when new.

You young whippersnappers never heard of a Schick Injector I betcha. Been using this for longer than most of you been on this earth. Good for what hair ya got wherever ya got it. Can't get original blades anymore, some offshore imitations are out there. Last time I found a stash of originals was about 10 years ago, bought all they had.
