And to those of you who want to call me lazy or stupid for using a car wash have at it. I'm in my 50's, have a "fun" car that has never seen a car wash or road salt, wash my truck by hand whenever possible. I have driven Tacoma's since there were Tacoma's and have logged about a million miles in them. My 2018 went thru the car wash about 200 times over 250k miles before I sold it and still looked amazing. My 05 went thru the car wash about 200 times and still looked good at 400k miles when I traded it in.

No need to defend yourself or your actions. Screw these people. It’s your truck. Wash it how you want. Some people just love to hear themselves talk, and have nothing better to do. They’ll probably hand wash their trucks once in the summer, but for the next 3 months will be sitting here with their phones in their hand browsing oil threads to find things to argue about or share their personal stories and thoughts.

Truck or not , in younger days I worked in a car wash over a summer and trust me I’ve seen some stuff. I do truck things with my truck , and all vehicles are expensive so to me I try and keep it mechanically and physically the best I can .Like it or not car washes are rough in many ways . But like other people said here everyone does what they want . All that said if I were OP , and I were using a car wash I would definitely find a different one for sure . I’m Not knocking any one here.

In the menus in the dashboard you can turn off the warnings for some things I forget the letters. I have to do that when taking it out on single tracks with a bunch of branches, otherwise it’s going crazy with collision warning.

That's what I was afraid of. So it's going to be just as pissed at me when I drive thru the tall hay in the summer. I'm guessing I better get familiar with all the menus and how to disable the warnings. I'm already kind of bummed that the truck warns me all the time that I've turned off the parking braking assist function.

I drive through all the time and I have just been able to ignore it. Freaked me out the first time as I thought the truck would slam on the brakes or something but it doesn’t.

Try disabling the parking sensors and blind spot monitor. Maybe even crash avoidance in menu. Odd that my 2023 limited doesn’t do anything going through car wash.upload_2025-1-25_14-9-19.jpg

I think there’s a whole lot of stuff that doesn’t happen when it’s in neutral.

Just buy a seat belt extender ....... they sell the short / stubby version ...... so,
you can still use your seat beat per normal. Just plug in your lap / shoullder belt like you
would normally do. Been using them for years.

I don't know what boomer has anything to do with it. As a boomer one of my biggest problems with a now 3 request to not fully retire is how pathetic many are at all ages. About 1000 people report to me. When I have to find or count on high performance people with good judgement it is almost always two gen Jones like me still working and women in their 20s.

    :)

Did you read read that before you posted it? I don’t have the slightest clue what most of it means.

Your post is just as offensive as the post you reference. Maybe try to be part of the group trying to stop these generalizations if that’s what you’re against?

Age and work ethic have literally NOTHING to do with this topic. I am old. I am also a hobbyist detailer. I also live in a part of the country that it is IMPOSSIBLE to wash your car when you need to get the very harmful salt off your car or truck. I take my truck through the car wash that, oh my god touches the paint, I assure you that after the winter and my first detail my truck paint will look better than any of you guys claiming washes will ruin your paint. Are they worse than hand washing all the time, absolutely. Are they going to ruin your paint and ruin your truck, not a chance. It is far better to run that truck through a car wash and get that salt off ASAP then let it sit there and wait weeks, maybe months before you can hand wash it.

As for the OP. The seat belt thing will do nothing for all the chimes when running it through the car wash. Your only option is to ignore it or you have to spend some time prior going through the center menu and disable those. No quick buttons to push or anything.
