Chasing a PS leak where the return line comes into the reservoir. Removed the hose figuring it was cracked at the clamp or had a pinhole leak, but after inspecting it seems to be fine other than just being 14 yrs old.

Looks like it might be coming from the actual plastic junction where the barbed connection meets the reservoir body. Anyone experience this failure before?

Going to replace the line with a piece of 3/8" transmission oil cooler hose and see if it continues. If it does, guess I'll be springing for a new reservoir. OEM is almost 2x cost of the generic Dorman, any input/ experience with either?

Have yet to see one leak there but if Doorman is making them then they must be relatively common.

Providing the Doorman one fits it should work just don't expect it to be of the same quality as the OE one because it won't be.

    I almost NEVER recommend Dorman.
But for a PS Reservoir, you should be ok.

Or, be like me, a HACK that doesn't care what it looks like, and has nothing to loose.
JB Weld gas tank patch. It's not like it's under a lot of pressure. If it works......It works.

That is...IF it's leaking from where you say it is.

Could just be a hardened hose - mine was (and replace with worm clamps). I would also jb it if possible.

Thanks for the input fellas. Think I'll put it back together with a new hose and see if it dries up. If not I'll spring for an OEM reservoir. Really not that much more shopping it around online, if I get another 10+ years out of a new one I'd be happy.
