    Ok problem solved.

I was hitting the X in the upper left. I didnt' realize the little icon of the speaker in the center bottom was a button. As others have said - hit that speaker icon and sensors shut up for the duration. THANK YOU to all who helped.

Just a flip up bed cover so far
I drive through a local car wash called Time To Shine. Haven’t had an issue with my 24. No warning lights to date. I do hand wash now and then.

Thanks for this thread, the solution is super useful. Interestingly, I thought the alarms were proximity sensors going off in the car wash, but it turns out they were forum alerts from the hand wash mafia.

Stopped at the carwash with the wife's RAV this weekend and some guy had 2x4's in the back of the truck. Well, he went through the soft touch wash and the upper roller dropped down when it got past the cab and got a bite on one of the 2x4's in the back of the truck and off it went. Right through the garage door behind him and luckily did not go into someone's windshield lined up waiting. WTF!

Turbo-Taco I still can't believe I didn't realize that speaker icon was a button! Maybe I am actually an old fart and didn't realize that either.

Correct - you were letting the layer of dirt protect against the harsh UV sunlight and trail striping … for decades I have embraced this philosophy. My 1988 S-10, 1996 Cherokee, 2010 SR-5 all went years before they got a good scrubbing and detail, no fading paint and looked pretty shiny as well
