Manifold heat shield rattling

    Noticed this when I was doing the initial inspection of the o2 sensor since I have the p0031 code. Have the part on hand. Just need to wait for the temps to go up a little bit so my fingers don’t get stuck on the metal…


    That heat shield/insulation is kinda pricey. I also need to get a crows feet wrench set to do this…more easily..

    Replaced the 02 sensor but still have the CEL

    Hopefully it eventually clears out and may not be instantaneous once the problem is fixed, but I could be wrong.

    Check the 15A A/F Heater fuse.
    (I use a test light and check for power at both sides of the fuse.)

    Next Unplug the A/F Sensor.
    With the key On, engine off.
    Check for 12v on the white wire of the connector.
    Should be pin #2 on the connector.

    It has not cleared but I need to do the further diagnostics to get more details once the weekend gets here.
