I cleaned things up a bit. bought smaller dinner plates, and everything.

still jogging, but taking it into the weeds further. I quit white rice, white bread, noodles, red meats, sugar (best I can) , and processed foods (Best I can).

I was on a kayak yesterday fishing for 8 hours and the guy were macking cold pizza..."mmmfff, you want some..mff?" I sadly ate a small thermos full of black bean salad mixed with cooked barely. hahhaha.. from across the lake "oh, the beer is still cold!"

hahaha..I came home and ate a small poke bowl, loaded with veg. I'm not that fat, but my doc says my liver is. it is like Foie Gras.

met with a Dietician yesterday and learned things. she laid out my food goals. I am not counting calories, but being super aware. I learned I eat way too many eggs in my life. 4 per week (with yolks) is right...I now just eat the whites. if I want bread, I make myself bake a loaf. haha.. no booze.

to be honest, I am feeling better. my guts, my alertness, energy. I sleep like a dead turd. I eat tiny meals where I am almost stilll hungry, if I am being honest with myself. snack, like a kid with apples and natural peanut butter, etc.
I think my wife is gonna benefit as well. I handed her a lean chicken salad on lettuce wraps yesterday, and she was, "what is this?" she is kinda on board. she is younger than me , so jumping on this early is easy for her, I hope.

lets to this!! I hope to normalize my foods later, but in the meantime I will stay disciplined..hopefully go to more of maintenance diet later. occasional in/out burger, skip the fries.. as an example.

I tape measured my belly dimensions and weighed myself to set the Datum.

what sucked? I went to a Quincinera last weekend. (sorry, I butchered the spelling). they served Birria!!! beans rice..all made by little Abuelitas. I tasted it and it was like angels singing in my mouth.

I ate the cumumber salad and hit the fruit bowl. it was DIFFICULT!! brutal.

    Congrats,

Cutting out the processed foods is key.
Eat dead animals and live plants.

What…? I thought egg yokes are now OK to eat. Labeled as good cholesterol. Essential brain food.

Great work! 3 months in now...what are your results?

I gave up carbs (mostly) on 1/02. No rice, no noodles, no bread. Had a few beers in this time frame, minimal carbs, No processed/artificial sugars (still eating lots of fruit), still eating red meat though, but minimal (maybe once per week). Hit up the gym 3-4 days per week since early December. Lost 7 lbs in 3 weeks starting Jan 2nd.

I am still at it. I relaxed diet a tiny bit, not much. example; still eating brown rice mixed with barley. still very little red meat, no sugar.. and still jogging daily.

I am down 27lbs. I seem to have reached equilibrium..I havent moved up or down in weight for about 2 weeks. might need to run farther now, but my jogs seem based on time allowance. I would need to start at 4:30 am, or something to allow time for a longer jog. not sure I can eat less.

for my liver, my doctor was going to prescribe Ozempic..she saw my weight loss and said, "nope! you got this". but the drug is apparently proven to speed up liver healing, which was the main point of her strategy.

I do miss the occasional BEER. :(

OP, interesting thread but I’m curious, what brought on this diet and exercise program. Overweight? Heart disease? Fatty liver? Or??

honest answer. a Brazil Amazon River fishing trip planning in the works. I fished it two years ago, and it was like doing Crossfit. 8 hours straight. we were going back and I didnt want to suffer again.

what cemented it was my doctor saying, "you have fatty liver". and, "you have to lose 10% of your body weight". her words kicked my Brazil health kick into high gear. (Brazil trip cancelled and turned into Mexico bass fishing trip)

yesterday,, I picked the one parking garage with a broken elevator. I parked on the 6th floor. I pay my ticket at the lobby and it said I had 5 minutes to leave. hahahha...I sprinted up the stairs and drove out. I bet I had 10 minutes..but I only thought about finding my car. I wasn't breathing hard or anything. with a heavy backpack as well.

    life is better.

I used to consider the BMI scale to measure our fatness total BS. but I think I understand more now.

the number takes into account the inside fat. hahah..my liver was taking a beating. outside, I looked like I could "drop a few". my liver looked like "maybe I should see if my brother is willing to donate a lobe to me"
