I installed a NOCO charging cable connector today. I didn't the cojones to cut a hole into the quarter panel, so I too the plastic panel next to the grille. Had to dremel one plastic stiffener away, the took the 50mm drill/saw thing and made a hole just fitting the NOCO connector part. Put some wire protector around the cable and ran it under the grille to next to the battery where I connected it to the NOCO trickle charger I had installed last year. Works fine and does not look too bad.

Does anyone else constantly have to put input into their steering wheel, over shitty asphalt roads?

Also does the wind blow you around?

Just curious, it's got great alignment when the road is nice and flat but as soon as there are any messed up patches or rough spots / pot holes in the road its no longer a easy steering experience. I was told this is pretty normal for most tacos. They tend to wander slightly.

Truck has brand new Bilstein 5100's, brand new inner and outer tie rods, and a brand new rack and pinion. New ish tires at 32 psi 265/70/16, and my alignment caster is about 2°

    Thanks.

After 1 year of waiting it was finally there: the Hudway HUD. Had the OBD II splitter installed last year already, so it was easy to install the HUD now. Have not driven it yet. But am excited for the first drive with it. Big downside is the OBD II dongle that drains battery because it is constantly on. At home no problem, I have it hooked onto the trickle charger. But going somewhere else I need to remember to disconnect the dongle.

Indeed. In my situation I needed the rear of the seat to be in a higher position. I disliked the original position of the seat immensely.. my body type, height, weight, etc. Led me to feel like I was sunk into the seat way too much coming from a first gen... Can't remember now but I believe I jacked the rear up an inch or 3/4"

Why not connect it to a circuit that is only hot when it's running. Maybe use an add a fuse at the fuse box.

That's a great place to put it. I put mine inside the bed on the bedside, I like this better.

I had always assumed that the port powered down when the vehicle is switched off but I guess it is my obdii bluetooth dongle that shuts itself down when it sense the vehicle turning off. Does your HUD not have an option to do that or does it work with any bluetooth dongle? I know I have left mine connected for extended periods without draining the battery.

By splitter, I assume you are saying you either have a Y connector on the J1962 plug (OBD II Connector), or you have installed a second J1699. It is a very easy connector to pop the pins out of. If it was mine, I would remove pin 16 from the truck side of the connector you are using for the BT Dongle and I would replace it with a pin connected to an IGN+ wire. This way it would only be on when the ignition is on.

You can also just cut and splice the wire. Pin 16 is Battery +. Heck you could change it on the main plug and then both the other plugs would only be hot with the key on. That power connector there is only for whatever external tool you connect, so if you don't need it to be on when the key isn't on, change it out.

Ugh that sucks. Happened to mine in a parking lot a couple years ago. I only found out who it was because a Good Samaritan watched it happen and forced the high schooler who hit my truck to leave their contact info. Allegedly they were trying to get away without leaving any info.

I do that too. Especially when I'm driving my Vette. Many times some jerk is parked close right next to me. One time I had to crawl in from the back through the back hatch. The world is full of idiots not like us on this forum.
