Oil leaking

    My tacos got 230,000 miles and I’ve noticed there’s some oil leaking around the valve cover for a while. I don’t know anything about how much is a lot. Is this urgent or is this just normal. Probably not normal.

    First off and really simple fix, get that gasket on the oil filler cap changed. Looks like its tired.

    It can be a little intimidating to the new DIY person but study the thread linked above and then watch the video. Reference the thread often, take your time, no shortcuts and it's totally doable to knock this out yourself. If you'd rather pay a shop, it's going to be somewhere in the $900-$1k range (would be my guess).

    I’m doing a head gasket on my second gen 4runner so this should be a piece of cake compared to the 3vze. Those things are the worst ill tell ya.
