I am tired of fighting my dogs to adjust the rear windows before they step on the switch so I made window switch covers.

    IMG_20250201_133208_684.jpg IMG_20250201_133215_139.jpg IMG_20250201_133218_021.jpg IMG_20250201_133306_889.jpg

They just friction fit into place and can be popped out when you have passengers. Now I do not have to stress about using my window locks anymore when riding with the dogs.

If anyone is interested I might throw them on my etsy but I wanted to check interest first.

    Thanks y'all!

Clever, but isn't there a little button that the driver can push to stop other passengers / dogs from operating their windows? How could pushing that button be stressful?

You cannot adjust the rear windows while that button is pushed. So you have to unlock, adjust, and relock before the dogs manage to step on the rear switch. The lock also locks the passenger window so my wife cannot open her window while it is on and every time I unlock hers the dogs jump on the rear doors and hit the switches.

Scrubbed some tires, and knocked a dent out.
Hah same. He's single handedly ruining the inside of my truck.

This. My dog has figured out that he can open the windows himself

I use the window lock specifically because of the wife.
I've always told her, when I'm behind the wheel don't touch any buttons, and I don't think it would take her long to figure out the switch cover..

Thanks, but really don't have a need now - dog only rides up front to the occasional groomer or vet appts.

Wish the tacoma was like my wifes rav4 in terms of these buttons. Her lockout actually works like it should and locks out just the other switches, I can still control all windows from the master switch.

But this is a good idea for when the dogs. Mine likes to climb up the door while I am rolling it down and always ends up standing on the switch while I am still adjusting it for him.

Every other vehicle I have ever owned has worked like that. The Tacoma has been the first with this issue.

Out of curiosity what year Rav4?
