It was 78dB before. I had to turn the radio up to 25 to hear it, now I can listen at 15.

‘It’s mostly persistence. There is a lot of stuff that has to come off. Sun shades, the trim on the pillars, lights, clothes hooks. One person can do it. Intook it apart in a day. Sound deadened another day. Put it back together on a third day.

@rnish Was searching threads to see if anyone had remove their roof liner for whatever reason and came across your post. The pic of the roof with liner removed was not close/clear enough to make out if OEM factory bolt holes were present on the passenger side to have a handle installed there. My interest in that roof area is when you had the liner off could you recall if there were OEM factory brackets with bolt holes for attaching a roof handle on the front passenger side, like the roof handle for the rear passenger side ( in your second pic ). I'm looking to install a handle for my 5' wife to help her going in/out of the cab ( '21 TRD OR DCSB ). TIA.

I've used sound deadening mats on a few cars/trucks. Roof and doors seem to make the most difference IMO.

Caution. The long white cloth tube in the original picture is the curtain airbag. Back to the original question, no I don't remember a handle attach point.

    How about sliders or steps?

We had running boards installed ( no steps which was her choice ) when we bought the Taco couple of months ago. She is used to having the roof grab handle in our '05 4R and with the one in the A pillar to hoist herself up ( we are old troopers in our mid 70's & agility is not our strong suit, lol ). I think a short strap wrapped around the outside head rest post may help. Will try that. Thanks for the heads up on the curtain bag.
