    Hey guys,
I’m past due to do my front wheel bearings. Not super familiar with the process or parts needed. Anybody got some guidance on what parts to order and anything else I should knock out while I’m in there?
Manual locking hubs 3.4 6 lug
    Thanks

The front bearing replacement is not fun.

First gen front bearings are not prone to failure. If yours are fine, Id not bother with changing them.

If one goes bad, it's not gonna leave you stranded. You will have time to schedule the repair.

How bout that, they sure make it look simple. You come up with cool stuff man. I watched them remove mine from knuckles with large press at a shop and it bowed like big girls pumps on date night.

    Hey Area51

I'm about ready to replace everything up front. I've been told you need a 20ton shop press to remove and install the bearings.

That dude in your videos got it done with a hub grappler!!! He didn't even use a 1/2 impact which was weird. I am going to rent a set from O'Reilly and give it a try. Think it will work???

Watching his video, sure does look cool. I've wanted to try it but am not going to drop that kind of coin on that tool. I'd rather throw it at a meyers compressor. There are a few cheaper alternatives but we all know how that goes. Let us know how it goes if you go the O-Reilly route. In another thread, @zippsub9 mentioned this (and completely agree with him).

Area, I will let you know. I have already confirmed that O'Reilly has a hub installer but need to find out if they have the grappler. Sure will beat waiting for my mechanic to be available when I need him. I am excited to get this FINALLY done because my bearings are screaming at me the faster I drive. And if I can hear it it must be loud!!! I'm almost deaf in.my right ear. Lol

That hub grappler tool works pretty good. Before you press the bearing part out take a wire wheel and clean thr knuckle so you don't get caught up on any rust chunks. That and pb blaster. You'll need a pretty beefy 1/2 impact.

Ty Tacoman. Good ideas. I may have to borrow my buddy's Earthquake 1/2 impact. That thing has 1500 torque! I only have my Dewalt 1/2.
