Hi, I have a 2000 2wd prerunner ext cab with a 3.4L V6 and the auto. ATM it's completely blown apart. It had collision damage in the front pass corner. I decided to do a frame off resto on it. The frame sits with only the suspension still attached. Waiting for it to warm up.
I'll be repairing some rust on the frame and repainting everything. Just about everything in the suspension will probably be replaced. Esp anything maintenance related like ball joints, ect.

I'm hoping to have a nice daily driver, off-roadable (possible dunes), unique taco when I'm done.

What I'm wondering is if there is anything I might want to consider upgrading, fabricating, swapping, updating yadda yadda yadda while I have everything apart. I'm new to these and haven't even driven one so I'm curious what you guys think is worthwhile to do to make these things better'er'er. I do have lots of experience welding and building vehicles, and wiring so there's not much I'm limited to except money.

    TIA
    the beegz

I would definitely invest in a 4wd swap while everything is apart. Bracing the frame would be good to while your there. Other then that if you just want a mild weekend toy you don't have to do much. Uca bilstens all the way around some new leaf springs and you'll be set.

yeah, like I said occasional off road. Not serious. If I spend a few grand it will be an sc not 4x4. Maybe more interested in things getting gusseted, frame bracing is in there. With all the talk about the bjs I'm not sure if uni-balls would be overkill for a mainly dd'er

I'd reccomend them. They will take more maintenance, they need to get rebuilt but it's nice peace of mind knowing they won't just snap off. I don't know if it's really worth gusseting if your not even 4wd unless your building a dune truck.

I may dune, but I'm not rough on my rigs. No sending. Not really a big deal I guess. Most of the time it will be pulling my buggies to the dunes probably not in the dunes. All the orv trails around me have lots of sand though.

I'm looking at a build thread by Blackdawg and I like the look of his nerf bars. I'll be doing tube bumpers front and back. Also have a winch. Possibly dual batteries... have to check the charging system capacity. Tailgate delete with spare mount. Some custom interior work with speaker boxes ect. rear camera...
