Is Fort Campbell an enclosed military establishment with controlled access??? Near me is the Ravenna Arsenal - 14,000+ acre former munitions building site during WWII and Korea, if I'm correct. Hunting access is by drawing only (I think that is how it used to be at least). Very limited access.

80k plus huntable acres in the back 40.
Roughly 45 to 50 areas ranging in size from 100 to over 4500 or more acres.
Lot of areas have huge DZ and LZ fields.
Some areas are ag lease farmed thru the fed.

Firebreak boundaries and early 1940,s imminent domained boundaries like 3 strand barb wire if you can find that grown into ancient trees, painted boundary lines on trees.
Pretty much open hardwood and rolling ridge to mixed growth flat lsnds.
    Logging ops also in areas.
Only place that wasnt fair chase was the youth hunt in The ASP (ammo supply point) and they have not had it in their for years.
They just reserve 10 to 15 areas for the youth hunt now.
It really is daddies extra tag hunt per some of the hijinks with that some pull.

They have limited bow hunts on garrison for AD only in wooded areas so that is " enclosed"
They also have limited rifle hunts on some of the small arms ranges for AD which are technically on Garrison but also bordering the back 40 downrange.

Isportsman system from civilian to active duty.
Lots of slots available per areas

I have done all the systems from random lottery draw to phone call in to present day isportsman system

Only enclosed and controlled access is the actual garrison area.

Isportsman might seem intimidating at 1st to navigate thru and use.
Like riding a bike once you do it 3 or 4 times

Their are places around like depots that still have limited access thru draw systems IIRC.
In a nut shell per isportsman.
Say 25 or 30 area are open for hunting on X day
And capacity is based on acreage of an area.
Say 25 hunters are allowed in area 22
AD call in for next day is noon
    Retirees and DAV is 1pm
    All others 2 pm

If 21 is full by AD call in.
No more can call into it until someone signs out after 8am the day of that hunt.
Or cancels their slot the day they got it and you see that slot available during your call in time.

Day of your hunt you can reserve a slot for the next also.

Their is alot more to the requirements of isportsman account set up and use of it

I just kinda simplified the Gist of it.

I know alot of the ground on post real well.
Was a 11B and was stationed at Campbell 3 times.

Areas I hunt are on the extreme western and northwestern part of the back 40.
People don't wanta drive that far.
    Which is cool by me.

Area 44A and area 50 I hunt alot.
The terrian is known by me and certain terrian in those places drives deer movement.

The isportsman system is pretty much the system for all major mil bases in DOD.

Everything from hiking , fishing, hunting, game scouting, water recreation, firewood cutting, atv riding.
    Ect ect ect.
You have to use the isportsman system to be authorized to be in the back 40.

    Once you learn it.
    It's like riding a bike.

Here is a idea of the boundary system on the far west and NW side of post in 44A and 50.
Painted tree lines, firebreaks, ancient jakked up barb wire fence.

It is about a 45 min drive on post from the eastern access major roads to get on the back 40.

Mostly old growth 50 to 125 yr old oak Forrest.
Replanted pine in logged areas or over grown with brush and Briar.
I also hunt area 21 which had alot of logging and is 10 plus yr old Briar and brambles clear cut but connected like jig saw puzzle with hard wood and oak Grove travel corridors.
Those overgrown clear cuts are a turn off to alot of people
I grew up in Maine hunting that type of stuff at times.

I used to be on a site called TN deer from 2007 to 2012.
Used to help guys with hunting spots on Campbell.
Went to the point of sending sone of them topo maps and protractors and teaching them how to read a 8 digit grid and how to translate that to a civy GPS.

Link up with many of em and hunt with them handrail them in in and set them down in known spots to me well before shooting light.

    Good proven ground.

That schit bit me in the azz like field of dreams if you build it they will come.

Previous areas I would never encounter other hunters in.
Turned into all their friends or family spots.

Took about 5 or 6 years of not being the shell answer man helpful guy for no sightings of other hunters.

My middle daughter hunted with me for 3 yrs.
And I have a close friend who hunted with me for about 5 yrs on post but no longer is able because of serious debilitating health issues now.

Turkey season starts early April on post.

Deer and Turkey killed on post are not included into TN or KY limits they are bonus kills on a fed mil reservation.

Isportsman has all the requirements to hunt on all major federal bases.

    Just Google
    Isportsman ft Rucker

    Lewis
    Drum
    Campbell
    Bragg
    Benning
Or whatever the new woke inoffensive names are now.
I refuse to call Ft Benning, Ft Moore...

Ect ect ect across all branches.
Each branch or base might have it's own little specific rules and regs.

I could talk about deer hunting on Ft Campbell like the energizer bunny.
But I got stuff to go do.

Ok, thanks, but you really over-complicated this for me!!!

So, no fence around the perimeter to keep out "trespassers"???

    Simple question....

The Ravenna arsenal has chain link fence with either barbed wire or razor wire along the top for the entire perimeter of the property.

    Garrison is secured.
And Gate access via public road system with federal police and MP, s
    All fenced various ways
    7 gates enter Garrison

3 gates enter Garrison from the back 40.
    Fenced in various ways.
The back 40 is via various public road access.

The ASP on Garrison is fenced.

Blue grass army depot is similar to Ravena from how you describe.
As are most arsenals and depots.

Bout the best way to describe it.
Others that have been stationed on large mil bases have seen the Back 40 and Garrison thing.

And their are plenty of trespassers in KY and TN that poach deer off Ft Campbell and other mil bases.
Not to mention baiting to draw deer from post to their fuuked up schit they do on their adjoin8ng land.
    Baiting is legal in KY
    Illegal in TN.

They look at areas available on the web on Isportsman to see boundary areas open or closed.

Isportsman needs to make this available to only current permit holders after log in only.
It has been brought up numerous times by hunters and the 2 fed wardens on post.
But the Isportsman people don't wanta fix it for some reason.

Their have been some big poaching bust on post.
Alot of people get caught doing fugged up schit every year.

I have seen my share of fugged up schit on post especially around boundary areas.
The wardens will take any report seriously and they do enforce the regs.
