I had the SXTH Element "OffRoad Trail Pipe" today and got rid of that hideous OEM tailpipe that Toyota put on a truck with a OffRoad package. Toyota, if you're reading this, what were you thinking with that thing? It has to be the ugliest and most non-functional exhaust tailpipe I have ever seen on any vehicle on Planet Earth. I don't even take mine off-road except for some rare work-related stuff...and twice I almost bottomed out just parking near a small ditch. I mean come on....for real. What new hire thought this was a good idea??

Nonetheless, here's a photo taken under the truck after install. One of the Taco on the racks after the install. And one showing how clean it looks with that ugly thing off there for good.
And another taken of that....thing....I took off.

As far as the difference in sound goes, I'd say it's minimal. I think actually sounds pretty good, and I am not one that likes a loud exhaust. Those days are over. The best way to describe it is...it no longer sounds like a hair dryer. Seriously, though...it has a nice moderate tone to it, whereas before it was so quiet, it was nearly non-existent.

Good call. I changed mine to, but used the one from the Trailhunter. Price wasn’t much different. I agree on the sound, it’s a minimal difference. But noticeable on the cold start. While driving it was harder to tell with the pumped in audio. I forgot to weigh the stock piece but I think I read somewhere it was around 19 lbs.

Yeah that weight sounds about right. I picked it up. Not super heavy, but very bulky (and ugly). Mine was $79...

Yeah, I am not a fan of excessive noise. Just wanted that ugly and obtrusive thing eliminated...mission accomplished.

Any highway drone? We drive to see the grand kids a few times a year and this is the closest at 800 miles round trip.

Yup, all I’d do is flat black wrap the hood and roof. Maybe a nice cap of some type on the bed. Looking great. Good luck with it!

They have a cat back already out, but all you need is $100 muffler & minimal pipe, muffler should could bang it out very cheap....

Zero drone! I’ve put about 4-5000 miles on with the SXTH trail pipe installed, mostly highway 55-90 mph. My 5.7 Tundra DirtyDeeds exhaust HAD drone and it was unpleasant cruising at 1800-2100 rpm’s! Until I installed their resonator that came with it, I was being lazy! So I was a little hesitant since the trail pipe eliminates the factory resonator.

I’d do just muffler and pipe. I welded my craven on my rig. I took a chance when I did my craven because the only info that I found was 3rd gen craven not second gen. I’m stoked on my setup

Any chance of them denying warranty if something engine or emissions happens ? We bought the extended warranty for 10yr/100,000 mile. Plan on this truck being around for a while.

Honestly, I would not think so, as the muffler and cat are still there...it just eliminates the resonator...I have a 125K Toyota warranty myself....but....I did keep the OEM parts just in case...
