    Hello all,

I'm in the market for 5x10 cargo trailer - something I can convert or modify for occasional camping use, but still use for hauling. I prefer the round top/round front style over the flat top/vee nose style.

Any recommendations on best quality trailers to look for, and any brands to avoid? (i.e. Hasn't leaked in 10 years vs leaked the day I bought it.) Brands that let you customize your trailer?

Looking for something similar to this, from image search:

Interstate trailers aren't the best, but can be improved. If you pull the interior walls, you will see daylight through the wall joints, probably a few screws that either missed the studs or wollowed out their holes, and you will see the ground through the front corners. All things that can be fixed, especially if you plan to insulate. Also, pull the black trim cover on the roof and where the roof meets the wall. Pull all screws and put sealant in the holes before putting the screws back because the trim actually holds water an the screws will wick the water into the walls and roof. You can then put the trim back on.
Proper way to fix the seal would the to pull the walls (or atleast the edges) and apply butyl sealant. Easier way would be to use rv roof seam tape and just cover it from the inside.
If you want to put a fan up top, built a brace to support the roof and keep it from bouncing. Paintrd kiln dried wood will work fine. Same if you decide to add a window, use KD wood to frame out the opening. To insulate the floor, pink foam board glued up works. I used roofing tin attached to the bottom to keep water and rodents away.
