This has been damaged for a long time, not even sure when it happened, but it bugs me and I'm ready for it to be fixed. From what I can tell on a parts diagram, the piece I need is 55650-04040-B0. Has anyone fixed this before? It looks suspiciously like I'll need to do significant dash disassembly to swap it, but hoping someone has done this before and can steer me on an easier path

I concur with the part number 55650-04040-B0 is the correct piece you need.

The last time I did a vent register was on an old Camry wagon and I had to unbolt the dash and have someone (my wife) hold the dash while I replaced the vent register. Not to difficult but a huge pain in the ass.
