Anyone using solar panels on their cameras? I’m thinking about trying them on a couple of my cameras this year. Curious how well they work and if they’re worth the money?

I have one came with the camera. Seems ti keep it charged at 100% video mode used some battery power but i turned that off

 

Thanks,that’s great. It’s $60 for a solar panel and I spend like $40 a year per camera on batteries. Long term seems like a smart buy.

While I dont have a solar trail cam, I’ve got a solar camera for my house and it keeps that thing charged 100% all the time. Small solar panels have come a long way since I was a kid

 

FWIW, I tried a couple different name brand solar panels and they lasted about a year, no more than 2. One got water in it and the other just quit.

 

Really. That’s exactly what I’m worried about. I already get pissed when I check the camera and the batteries are dead. If the solar panel took a crap it would be disappointing. Thanks

 

Good. That’s encouraging. I guess it’s kinda like the cameras themselves, I’ve had some that have lasted forever and some that crap out after a season or two. Thank you

Nah...no ban for me. Woke up Monday morning not feeling the greatest. Go to the doctors in the AM, positive for Type A flu. Wife and son came home Tuesday at lunch. Been down all week.

Do appreciate the welfare check!! If what I said to SomeTacoDouche was ban worthy, so be it. Guy doesn't work and play well with others, and as I said initially, I despise buck shaming. Social media is filled with guys posting pics, apologizing that it's only a doe, lil six or whatever... This ain't my campfire, but I will call it out. Every. Single. Time.

Back to our regularly scheduled program of discussing if hunting whiteltails from a treestand requires a $700 sight.

 

Looks like my Mathews DXT is from 2008....paid $1000 for the bow and quiver back then!!! Re-used my sight and rest from previous 2 Mathews bows, so early 2000's on them??? Still the same set up today and If I could still draw it and hunt with it (rotator cuff and biceps tears prevent that) I wouldn't change a thing!
