Ok, things are happening fast. The salesman just called and told me that they got another Tacoma allocated to their dealership exactly like the one was supposed to get that has been “updated” and is not on the stop list and is scheduled to be delivered by the end of February to the beginning of March. We will see.

Just as an fyi, vehicle manufactures don't manufacture their own wheels. That's a contracted item and gets installed at the factory along with tires. Glad to read they're doing something about the rear brake line. The design is a receipt for disaster.

I'll be interested to see what the countermeasure version of the brake hose looks like. My money's on it being routed so it no longer loops up into the wheel but around back instead. You know, in a sensible way.

I posted a screenshot from my Toyota app, but it looks like someone already posted the recall. Coincidentally I’m getting the wheels/tires combination from my 2015 put on and programmed today (I got the special lug nuts from Rave Off Road that fit the 4Runner TRD pro ones)

Same, put deposit down, made travel arrangements and within the hour was told a stop-sale was put on my truck.

After reading this thread, I refreshed the Health tab of the Toyota app and the Recall showed up.

Mistakes happen. Glad to see that Toyota is taking things seriously and continues to put customer safety #1.

The two million or so 4Runners and FJs built with rear discs over the last two decades didn't have this issue either. The design culprit seems to be the electric parking brake actuator, as it displaces the brake hose from its traditional location.

Mine came with 18’s although I’m not a fan of the Goodyear, it definitely rides better than my other two Tacoma‘s with Goodyears
I like the falken wild peak A/T3W myself. I’ll probably swap these out quite soon - as far as the brakes go I haven’t done any offloading yet cause it’s only four days old, but it has stopped every time I’ve hit the break if that helps.IMG_7787.jpg

FYI, I recently needed a replacement Falken A/T3W, and my local Discount Tire no longer carries them. I had to get a whole set of A/T4W...you may want to confirm stock wherever you shop.
