I have a 2023 Tacoma access cab, 4X4 TRD Off Road.
Has anybody experienced rear end noise like a howling noise between 50 and 55 MPH.
Also, noise that sounds like rough bearings during acceleration.

Is it only the ones with locking differential?

common, mine barely does it, and I chose to leave the tried and true OE assembly in, rather than the dealer playing swap-a-part with it,,, especially since it doesn't seem like it fixes it.

Not exclusively but the locker 8.75" is much more pronounced than the 8" in the V6 auto non-lockers.

I have an OR and I have no unusual noises (that I can hear) coming from the rear differential. I think the phenomenon is more likely due to differences in human perception.

Stock wheels and suspension. Random "utilitarian" mods featured on this great forum.
Noise between 55 and 60; absolutely. Has been this way since about 10k mi. and still kicking strong.

No sound on acceleration so that's the thing you want to chase; not the diff resonance noise.

My 2016 OR manual had the rear diff howl.
My 2019 Sport manual has the rear diff howl.

Just makes some noise, no other real issues.

I would say if you drove my truck you could definitely hear it. There's no way you're missing it unless you have hearing issues lol

Hearing is part of what I was referring to when I wrote human perception. Another part is how one reacts to noises. My truck makes all sorts of noises, but they are normal in my perception.

The TSB fix doesn't do much on an OR because it already comes with the body mount bushings that the TSB calls for. In an OR all it adds is a little piece of foam insulation that they decided to remove in the cost saving refresh (when they also removed the drivers side bed cubby)

do you have a bed mat?
try a pool noodle between the bed and cab if you just want to live with it or
