Hey guys, doing a Colorado trip in April. Unfortunately I’m not taking the taco, we are flying in to see family, but we are renting a taco or something similar. We are flying into Denver and we have a few days to head into the mountains. What do you guys suggest? Food suggestions aswell! Most importantly. Thank homies.

March is the snowiest month of the year. Mountains will likely still be effectively closed for offroad.

Really? Not looking to off-road, we are flying in, just looking for places to eat and see. That’s crazy it still snows in March. Damn, is going to be in the 70s this week in GA.

Ah, if you are just going up the the mountains then you have options.

I've seen blackbear closed in July due to snow. Trails being closed that late are unusual, but there are a few.

Mostly just site seeing and good food spots. Unfortunately no trails trip. That’s a bigger trip, but we want to get into the mountains from a touristy perspective. We are flying in this time, next time will be an off-road trip.

Take your pick, Breck, Vail, Aspen, Winter Park, Crested Butte, Telluride. Aspen or Vail probably have the more notable restaurants but Colorado isn’t exactly a culinary destination.

    Lifted, Armored, needs more lights.
Most of Ski Area's are open until the middle of April. Like all said, almost zero chance to 4x4.

You could Sled (Snow mobile), hit up RMNP for some ice hiking or just do drive tour.

Oh and April is the 2nd Snowiest month in Colorado but last few years has been pretty sparse.

If you want to stay close-ish to Denver you could do the peak to peak highway. Take 70 to Central City Pkwy / 119 and go north. You can end up in Golden, Boulder, Lyons, Estes with the option of several canyon roads to pretty easily head back down. Not much in the way of foodie food but there are many places on the route but good scenery and tons of little hikes/walks/stops you can take. I might be biased as I live right off the peak-to-peak in Nederland.

Drive up to Glenwood Springs & check out some Doc Holliday stuff. They have a bar and he's buried there. Buffalo Bill is in Golden. Def check out Coors in Golden. Wings over the Rockies is a great museum in Denver. Denver Nature Museum is very nice & in the city. Maybe check out Aurora Resevoir and see some ice fishing
