    Hey y'all,

I've got a 2022 TRD Off-Road that won't stfu and I need some advice on what the sound might be.

It's got 72k miles on it as of now. There is an intermittent, high pitched squealing while accelerating, if I'm on the gas lightly. If I push down and accelerate harder, the noise disappears. The noise has gotten worse over the last month, but I've been out of work so I just turn the radio up.

Anyway, with my little bit of googling and YouTube Mechanic™️ knowledge, I'm leaning towards serpentine belt, or potentially the water pump. I'll try and get a video of the sound later, but so far I've struggled to capture it.

Any advice or knowledge is appreciated.

Well, replacing the drive belt is pretty easy and inexpensive to do, and that is where I would personally start.

    Highway light acceleration WOOOOO?

Normal, there was TSB's but many trucks do it. Even the new trucks.

If your belt looks visually good, you might try spraying belt dressing (to see if the noise goes away). At 72K miles as others have said you probably should change the belt.

    https://www.autozone.com/greases-and-gear-oil/lubricant-grease/p/shoppro-belt-dressing/1347605_0_0?spps.s=3757&cmpid=LIA:US:EN:AD:NL:1000000:pER:19488533498&gclsrc=aw.ds&gad_source=1&gbraid=0AAAAADkcoVsSv0XceP0CrrzN1VX054prT&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIgqzeqfq0iwMV-C2tBh3U4gBuEAQYAiABEgL2zvD_BwE&new_store_set=true

Here is a tip. If you get the old belt off without cutting, keep it in my truck in case of an emergency.

Nope, only while accelerating. It's silent otherwise. I'll have to double check what RPMs it's at.

Judging by the replies, I'll probably just replace it anyway and see what happens.

Also check your Idler Pulley for wear.

    This is killing me lmao.

Belt ordered, be in tomorrow and I'll square it away. Hopefully it quiets down.

While in park I would have someone lightly hit the gas with the hood open and you watching to see if perhaps it’s one of the pulleys.

But like others have said with the mileage I would probably just throw in a new belt anyway regardless
