The story.

• She joined her fiancé, Chavet, on a ship bound for the New World.
• She became ill with a mysterious sickness that included fever, convulsions, and delirium.

• Chavet buried her on top of the mountain overlooking the Arkansas River on what is now known at Petit Jean Mountain.
